CSU East Bay


Linda Beverly is a pursuing a double major in Mathematics and Computer Science. She is currently researching neural networks for image classification. This work is building on her prior research in geometric dimensionality reduction and unsupervised machine learning. She works under the mentorship of Dr. Shirley Yap. Linda is the founder of the Recreational Mathematics and Computer Science Club which now has over 160 members. She provided support and outreach to initiate chapters of both the AWM and ACM-W to help foster and encourage a supportive environment for women in both Mathematics and Computer Science at CSU East Bay. She is an amateur photographer and combat roboticist. Her team's robot, Logic Gator, is still under construction. Linda notes that “knowledge is brain food” and hopes to pursue a Ph.D. in Mathematics with the goal of becoming a Mathematics Researcher.
