Dr. Sherri L. Sanders, NCWIT’s Extension Services (ES) Director and faculty research associate in the Department of Information Science at the University of Colorado Boulder, partners with team members to develop and deliver successful initiatives to address gender imbalance in undergraduate computing departments. In collaboration with expert consultants, ES supports faculty change leader teams with the design and implementation of locally relevant strategic recruitment and retention plans, focused on creating sustainable systemic change. Prior to joining NCWIT, Dr. Sanders served as a senior leader at UT-Austin for 28 years. Most recently, as associate vice president for inclusion and equity, she advanced efforts to create a more diverse, equitable, and supportive campus culture. As associate vice president, Dr. Sanders led initiatives centered on her areas of interest including diversity planning, faculty recruitment and retention, campus climate response, and inclusive classrooms.
