Robert “Rob” Roser is an experimental particle physicist and a distinguished member of the scientific staff at Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory, America’s premier particle physics laboratory. Currently, Roser serves as the laboratories Chief Information Officer (CIO). He is responsible for both the scientific computing as well as information technology (IT). Prior to this assignment, Roser led the Collider Detector Experiment(CDF). With more than 700 scientists from 60 academic institutions across 15 countries, CDF is best known for the discovery of the Top Quark and first evidence of the Higgs Boson. Dr. Roser received his BA from the Univ. of Connecticut and his Ph.D. from the Univ. of Rochester; he was a post-doctoral research associate at the Univ. of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign before joining Fermilab as a Wilson Fellow. He is a member of numerous scientific advisory panels, a fellow of the American Physical Society and is the author of over 650-refereed publications.
