Susan Hinrichs is a software engineer on the Yahoo Edge team, and she is a committer on the Apache Traffic Server Project. Prior to her time at Yahoo. Susan earned a PhD in Computer Science from Carnegie Mellon. She joined a network security start up which was acquired by Cisco Systems where she worked on security policy tools. After Cisco, Susan taught computer security at the University of Illinois for eight years and developed a security lab course. She worked on a startup in the area of network security analysis, and she has done consulting in the area of network security and distributed system design.
