Dr. Lihua Zhao is Director and Principal Investigator at HP Labs, leading an elite research team to advance HP’s 3D printing technology for future industry revolution. Dr. Zhao joined HP in 2009, and spent 4 years leading research efforts on materials design, development and fabrication for flexible displays and electronics. Prior to joining HP, Dr. Zhao was an Assistant Research Scientist at University of California, Berkeley to develop new materials for flexible displays in a collaborative effort with tech industry. She received her Ph.D. in Chemistry and Materials Science from University of California, Irvine in 2006 and her B.S. and M.S. degree in Chemistry in China. Dr. Zhao has published more than 20 peer-reviewed papers, authored and co-authored numerous patents and invention disclosures. Dr. Zhao is keen on encouraging, mentoring and developing all young scientists and engineers, especially women and minorities.
