Nikan Chavoshi is a fourth year Ph.D. student in the Department of Computer Science at the University of New Mexico (UNM). Before starting her Ph.D., she obtained M.Sc. and B.Sc. degrees in Computer Engineering from Amirkabir University of Technology in Tehran, Iran. Her research interest is in time series mining and temporal behavior analysis in social media. She has developed a near real-time system, called DeBot, to detect automated accounts in Twitter based on their temporal activities. She has published articles in WWW, ICDM, SocInfo and KAIS. She has done two summer internships at Visa Research Lab as a research intern. She co-founded the UNM Women in Computing (WinC) association on 2015. She also was a GHC and Grad Cohort scholar on 2015.
