Dr. Dee A. B. Weikle is an Associate Professor of Computer Science at James Madison University (JMU) in Harrisonburg Virginia. She began her career as an electrical engineer working for Tracor Aerospace and Motorola Semiconductor in Austin, Texas after receiving her BSEE from Rice University in Houston. In 2001, she graduated from the University of Virginia (UVA) with a PhD in computer science under the direction of Dr. William Wulf modeling computer caching systems. Prior to her position at JMU, Dr. Weikle worked as an Associate Professor at Eastern Mennonite University and as a research scientist at UVA. Her passions are teaching excellence and broadening participation. She has recently become involved in the POGIL project (Process Oriented Guided Inquiry Learning) for computer science as well as POSSE (Professors Open Source Software Experience). Her research interests include computer science education as well as computer architecture and workload characterization.
