Mike McNamara has been Chief Executive Officer of Flex (NASDAQ: FLEX) since 2006. Flex is a leading sketch-to-scale™ solutions company that designs and builds intelligent products for a connected world. With more than 200,000 professionals across 30 countries and a promise to help make the world Live Smarter™, the company provides innovative design, engineering, manufacturing, real-time supply chain insight and logistics services to companies of all sizes in various industries and end-markets. Prior to his current role, Mr. McNamara served as Flex’s Chief Operating Officer and President of Americas Operations. He joined Flex in 1994, through the company’s acquisition of Relevant Industries, Inc., where he was the President and Chief Executive Officer. Under Mr. McNamara’s leadership, Flex has nearly doubled its size. He has led many successful acquisitions, including the $11B acquisition of Solectron, one of the largest in the electronics industry. Other leadership roles Mr. McNamara has held include Vice President of Manufacturing Operations at Anthem Electronics and Principal at Pittiglio, Rabin, Todd & McGrath. Early in his career, Mr. McNamara held a variety of leadership positions at Intel and worked as a production foreman at Ford Motor Company. Mr. McNamara serves on the board of directors of Workday and Flex and is the Chairman of the Board of Elementum. Previously, he held board positions in the automotive industry at Delphi Corporation, in the solar industry with at MEMC (SunEdison) and in the medical industry at TheraSense, which was acquired by Abbott Laboratories. Mr. McNamara is on the advisory board of the School of Economics and Management of Tsinghua University in Beijing and on the Presidential CEO Advisory Board of Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Mr. McNamara regularly lectures at Tsinghua University and previously lectured at both the MIT Sloane School of Management and the MIT Leaders for Manufacturing program. Mr. McNamara holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Cincinnati and a master’s degree in business administration from Santa Clara University.
