Bio
Doug Tracy is a seasoned general manager and technology executive with over 30 years of experience at Fortune 500/Global 2000 companies, top echelon consulting firms and premier public sector organizations. He has particular expertise in Information Technology (Software and Services), mergers and acquisitions (M&A), business transformation, cost reduction, process improvement, business development and strategic planning. He has deep technical expertise in information technology, such as cloud computing, cyber security, DevOps, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Enterprise Resource Planning. In addition, he has extensive international experience in North America, Europe, Asia, Australia and the Middle East. Currently, Doug is serving as a Board Member, Advisor, Consultant and Interim CIO to a variety of companies. These range from large global organizations to emerging businesses to nascent technology start-ups. His current work ranges from business development initiatives to sales & marketing planning and business/IT transformation. Prior to Doug’s independent advisory & consulting work, he served at the CIO/CTO of several global corporations. He led the transformation of CSC’s internal IT function as the global CIO by moving to a modern, cloud-based infrastructure with enhanced cyber security. In addition, he restructured the organization and reduced IT cost over 50%. He also worked closely with key account customers and alliance partners to help with CSC business development. Prior to CSC, Doug served as the global CIO for Dana Holding Corporation, a $7B global manufacturing company. At Dana, he led a transformation of the IT function with new applications, improved infrastructure, reduced cost and a new organization (people and structure). Previously, Doug had also served as the EVP of IT for North America and the global CTO for Rolls-Royce plc, a $15B aerospace, marine and energy power plant manufacturer. At Rolls-Royce, Doug led ERP programs and an infrastructure refresh to improve collaboration and security across the company. In addition to his executive career, Doug has served on several advisory boards. He was a member of the Continuent advisory board until their acquisition by VMware in 2014. He was also on the Advisory council for Landmark Ventures, a venture capital and technology advisory/consulting firm. Doug also served on the advisory board for The CTO Group, which provided professional services in the information technology space. Doug has a well rounded educational background with multiple degrees, continuing professional education and key industry certifications. He holds a BSEE with distinction from the U. S. Naval Academy, an MBA from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University and an MS in Software Development and Management from the Rochester Institute of Technology. Doug keeps his technology skills up to date through various professional courses, such as a BigData course from MIT and a Machine Learning course from Stanford. Doug also holds a number of key professional certifications, such as being a Fellow and Certified IT Professional of the British Computer Society, a Project Management Professional certification from the Project Management Institute, a Certification in the Governance of Enterprise IT from ISACA and the ITIL Foundation Certification.
