Bio

Dr Mark Boocock is an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Clinical Sciences at Auckland University of Technology (AUT). He is the Leader of the Ergonomics and Human Factors Group at the Health and Rehabilitation Research Institute (HRRI) and Co-Director of the Centre for Occupational Health and Safety Research (COHSR). He joined AUT from the Health and Safety Laboratory (an agency of the Health and Safety Executive) in the UK where he worked as a senior research scientist in the field of ergonomics. Mark’s research interests include the assessment of work-related musculoskeletal disorders and ergonomics interventions. He has worked on a number of international research projects and standards (e.g. ISO and CEN on manual handling and working postures) and was involved with the development of ACC’s Workplace Injury Prevention Strategy Programme. Mark is a past President of the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society of New Zealand Ergonomics (HFESNZ)
