Bio
June is the Director of the Vodafone Americas Foundation. Previously, she served on several posts at Vodafone’s predecessors, AirTouch and Pacific Telesis International. She most recently led the transition of Foundation’s strategy towards technology for social impact. She also developed the Vodafone Americas Foundation Wireless Innovation Project, a competition designed to seek the best wireless technology solutions to address critical social issues around the world. The competition has identified cutting edge innovations in digital health monitoring, diagnosis, data collection, financial literacy, and economic development. June enjoys the challenge of creating alignment between corporate philanthropy and CSR or Corporate Social Responsibility with corporate strategy; supporting incubation of social innovation start-ups; to stimulate and nurture technology funding by developing funder education & nonprofit education programs; searching innovative ways to harness mobile data for nonprofits to serve the community faster, better, safer, while emphasizing the importance of considering privacy and security. Her latest efforts are focused on diversity in the workplace, women and girls in sciences and technology, and creating internal employee programs for community engagement. Listed in 40 Women to Watch Over 40, as one of the leaders dispelling the myth of ageism and leads through innovation and disruption, June has served on the board of Northern California Grantmakers and participates in the Arts Loan Fund and the Emergency Loan Fund of the organization. She also serves on the advisory board of the Foundation Center in San Francisco, and served on the advisory committee of the Vodafone Group Foundation and United Nations Foundation Technology Partnership, the board of the National Japanese American Historical Society, the Business Arts Council in San Francisco and Nobiru-kai, a Japanese newcomers association.
