Ron Dermer began serving as Israel’s Ambassador to the United States in October of 2013. From 2005-2008, Ron served as Israel's Minister of Economic Affairs in the United States. From 2009-2013, he served as Senior Advisor to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Mr. Dermer co-authored The Case For Democracy: The Power of Freedom to Overcome Tyranny and Terror with Natan Sharansky, former Israeli Knesset member and Chairman of the Jewish Agency for Israel. He was also a columnist for the Jerusalem Post for three years. Ron graduated in 1993 from Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania with a B.S. in Finance and Management. He then went on to earn a degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics (PPE) from Oxford University. Mr. Dermer is married with five children.
