Chief of the Center for Risk and Quantitative Analytics, Securities and Exchange Commission

Lori Walsh is currently the Chief of the Center for Risk and Quantitative Analytics in the Division of Enforcement at the Securities and Exchange Commission. She joined the SEC in 2000 as a financial economist, first in the Office of Economic Analysis and later in the Office of Risk Assessment. Lori has had her research published in academic journals and trade publications. In May 2010, she joined the Division of Enforcement as the Deputy Chief of the Office of Market Intelligence (OMI) where she helped design the first centralized Tips, Complaints, and Referrals system for the Commission. In July 2013 she started the Center for Risk and Quantitative Analytics (CRQA). CRQA provides the Division with enhanced data analytic capabilities to proactively identify as yet undetected violations and to support faster, more effective cases. Lori received a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, an MBA and a PhD in Finance from Pennsylvania State University.
