Bio
Ken serves as Executive Director of Zynga.org, an independent nonprofit organization dedicated to the idea that millions of players and game makers can make the world a better place through games. To date, Zynga.org has driven nearly $25M in contributions to charitable organizations globally. In addition, Zynga.org is focused on the power of learning games to deliver improved academic results for students and teachers, as well as improved cognitive health and social-emotional outcomes for everyone. Zynga.org is also committed to the idea that game design and computer science can be powerful pathways for STEM learning, college preparedness and careers in technology, particularly for students of color. Prior to joining Zynga.org, Ken was COO of The ONE Campaign, an issue advocacy organization working to alleviate poverty and meet global health challenges, particularly in Africa. Prior to ONE, Ken was founding president and COO of Network for Good, a nonprofit serving donors, volunteers and other nonprofits. Ken serves on the boards of co.lab, an ed tech accelerator, the San Francisco Parks Alliance, Spark* SF Public Schools and The Lexicon of Sustainability. From 1994-1996, Ken attended graduate school at Indiana University’s School of Journalism in Bloomington, IN. He holds an Honours B.A. in English Literature from the University of Guelph, near Toronto, Canada. Ken lives near San Francisco, CA, with his wife Stephanie and their two children, Jack and Juliet.
