Bio
Grammy Award-winning British songstress Estelle’s new album, True Romance, is out now via her own imprint Established 1980 Inc./BMG. The album features the inspirational anthem “Conqueror,” which skyrocketed even further after a special duet version aired during a recent episode of FOX’s his show Empire. The song became the biggest-selling track on iTunes and hit Top 3 Overall and #1 on the iTunes Hip-Hop/Rap Chart. Performed by Estelle (who guest starred as Delphine) and Jussie Smollett (who plays Jamal), “Conqueror” became the highest-charting song from Empire to date and helped spur The Original Soundtrack from Season One of Empire to the #1 spot on the Billboard 200. The original version of “Conqueror” is an Urban AC radio hit and was also featured in the 2014 hit Lionsgate/ Codeblack Films release Addicted. It landed Estelle recent TV appearances on The View, Live with Kelly & Michael, UNCF An Evening of Stars, Black Girls Rock, The Real, VH1 Big Morning Buzz, the historic Centric Celebrates Selma concert, and many more. The album, anchored by 4 themes - passion, courage, true romance and the BS - has garnered her praise from the likes of New York Times, Rolling Stone, People, NPR All Things Considered, Elle, Oprah Magazine, Cosmo, InStyle and Entertainment Weekly. In addition to her music, Estelle also runs her foundation All of Me, which focuses on educating and expanding the horizons of young people through college scholarships and volunteer opportunities abroad. She has also ventured into the world of animation, voicing a lead character, Garnet, on Cartoon Network’s hit show Steven Universe. In the world of fashion, her Scarves by Swaray line is yet another outlet for Estelle’s endless creativity. Made from the finest quality silk and inspired by Estelle’s heritage and global travels, these versatile pieces can be worn in many ways. Estelle truly conquerors it all. She first burst onto the scene in 2008 with her double-platinum, international chart-topping hit song “American Boy” featuring Kanye West, transforming her into a pop and R&B sweetheart and earning her a Grammy for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration.
