Bio
Tyler Genevay, currently a junior at St. Margaret’s Episcopal School in San Juan Capistrano, California, is active in and passionate about many school-led and extracurricular activities. When not focusing on his schoolwork, Tyler likes to involve himself in the Tartan Debate Club, as well as his school’s division of Model United Nations, where he is one of their Officers of Operations. After receiving his Black Belt in Wado-Ryu in 2013, Tyler shifted his focus to his earning his Eagle Scout from his local Boy Scout Troop, 772 in Laguna Niguel, California. Currently a Life Scout, Tyler hopes to finish his Eagle Scout before the end of the year, achieving a personal goal of his after several years of hard yet rewarding work. Having called Southern California his home all his life, Tyler has grown accustomed to 70-degree winters, and weekend beach days are a commonplace in the Genevay household. Although the water isn’t always the warmest, Tyler loves to enjoy the sand with his father Jay, mother Kathy, sister Samantha, and family pet, a Pomeranian named Mochi. While attending SIS in November, Tyler will be taking a break from his work with his school’s Associated Student Body (ASB), where he serves as the Junior Boys’ Representative. Tyler looks forward to having the meaningful discussions and dialogue that he knows will characterize the Social Innovation Summit 2015.
