Matt Lonner is Chevron’s Manager of Global Social Performance with over 20 years of experience in the area of social performance and community engagement. Matt leads Chevron’s efforts to advance Chevron’s social performance around the world and develop the capabilities of leaders and practitioners to deliver social performance – all part of business unit efforts to manage social risk through stakeholder engagement, social impact management, and social investment. Matt is responsible for elevating stakeholder engagement into the company’s management system, establishing and advancing Chevron’s social performance strategies enterprise-wide, executing large-scale economic development initiatives, engaging stakeholders and advancing cross-sector partnerships, and supporting business unit operations to implement local social performance activities. Matt previously oversaw the company’s global social investment program, where he spearheaded Chevron’s global health efforts in the area of HIV/AIDS, led Chevron’s U.S.-focused investments to support science, technology, engineering and math education, directed Chevron through a number of disaster relief efforts around the world, and oversaw the company’s employee community involvement programs. Matt has been a featured speaker and is recognized as an expert in the area of social risk management, stakeholder engagement and social investment & development. Formerly a practicing attorney, Matt is a graduate of San Francisco State University and earned a law degree from the University Of San Francisco School Of Law.
