Bio
David Marston has 30 years of accounting and consulting experience. He has been a Partner in the Advisory practice of PricewaterhouseCoopers since 1997. Mr. Marston has been with the Firm since 1990 and has a wide variety of international experience and expertise, with a focus on intellectual property matters, licensing matters, and contract compliance. He spent the period of 1998-2001 on a secondment in Western Europe (Zurich, Switzerland), and is based in our San Jose office. Mr. Marston is Global Leader of the License Management and Contract Compliance Practice. His industry focus is Technology and Software, although he has also worked in pharma / life science consumer products and entertainment / media. The client issues that he deals with concentrate on Revenue Leakage, IP maximization, IP risks and controls, and contract compliance. Mr. Marston has served as a neutral Arbitrator and has assisted in arbitrations related to purchase price disputes and other accounting issues. He has testified in both Federal and State Court as an expert witness on a number of occasions. Mr. Marston is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in the state of California, a CLP, and a CFF. Mr. Marston was formerly CFO of a privately held software company. Mr. Marston has served on the Firm's National Task Force on intellectual property and has taught several internal courses on the subject. He has authored many articles on these topics and is a regular outside speaker at external conferences. Mr. Marston is the Global Partner Leader of one of the largest multinational technology clients. In that role, he has responsibility for all services delivered in 38 countries.
