Rhonda Mims, Managing Director of Corporate Social Responsibility for Paul Hastings, LLP is responsible for the global social responsibility strategy for the firm. She has oversight for the firm’s diversity and inclusion strategy, charitable giving, pro bono/volunteer efforts, and environmental sustainability. Prior to her current role, Mims was President for the ING U.S. Foundation and Senior Vice-President for corporate responsibility for ING U.S./Voya Financial. She previously served as ING U.S. PAC treasurer, ethics officer, and conducted government affairs on behalf of the company. Prior to that role, she was counsel with the ING U.S. litigation team, overseeing the management of outside counsel on litigation matters, and a territorial sales manager for ING based in Fairfax, Va. Prior to joining ING, she served as an environmental civil litigation attorney with the U.S. Department of Justice and as a senior attorney with the National District Attorney Association's American Prosecutor's Research Institute. Mims currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Harlem School of the Arts, the Citizen’s Committee for the Children of New York, and serves as Chairman of The Executive Leadership Foundation. Mims is a former Board Director for the YWCA USA, America’s Promise Alliance and the Thurgood Marshall College Fund. Mims is a 2007 Leadership Atlanta Graduate and a member of The Links, Inc., and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. She also served as a senior advisor to the University of California, Berkeley Haas Center for Corporate Responsibility. PR News honored her as one of their 2008 Corporate Social Responsibility Executives of the Year and the Clinton Global Initiative recognized her efforts in serving young girls by creating the ING Girls Inc. Investment Challenge. Mims was named the 2010 Corporate Leader of the Year by the Thurgood Marshall College Fund and was given the Corporate Vision Award from Girls Inc. in the same year. In 2011, Mims was identified by Black Enterprise as one of Corporate Americas top executives for Diversity and Inclusion and was recognized in June 2012 by Uptown Professional Magazine as a Catalyst for diversity and inclusion.
