Erik Bosker (53 years old) is presently Senior Policy Advisor in the Animal Supply Chain and Animal Welfare Department of the Ministry of Economic Affairs in The Hague. As DVM he is responsible for veterinary market access issues in the region Eurasia with priority for Customs Union, Ukraine, GCC and India. Erik Bosker (EB) started to work for the public sector in 1995 as official veterinarian in the largest Border Inspection Post (BIP) in the European Union, BIP Rotterdam. In 1999 he became head of the Border Inspection Post Rotterdam. After moving to the central office of the Netherlands Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority in The Hague he became project leader. One of the projects was about designing, creating and implementing the national application for the registration of the veterinary checks in the Dutch Border Inspection Posts. The application was successfully launched in 2004. From 2000 he also participated as an expert in several EU Phare Twinning projects in candidate Member States. After a transfer to the Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality in 2006 EB became Netherlands project leader of the Sino-Dutch cooperation on e-certification that started in 2010. Since October 2011 the exchange of e-certificates from The Netherlands to the PR of China is in production. In January 2015 both countries successfully launched paperless certification for dairy products exported from The Netherlands to the PR of China.
