CPA Enrique Canon Pedragosa was appointed as Director General of Uruguay Customs for the second consecutive term by the President of Uruguay, Dr. Tabaré Vázquez, on March 3rd, 2015, confirmed by the Minister of Economy and Finance, CPA Danilo Astori.

On March 10th 2010, he first took office as Director General of Uruguay Customs, during the Mujica administration, after being confirmed in this position by the Minister of Finance Econ. Fernando Lorenzo

From April 2012 to June 2014 he was elected by the Regional Conference of Customs Directors General of the Americas and the Caribbean, as Regional Vice Chair of the World Customs Organization.

Until his appointment, Mr. Canon had served as the General Coordinator of the Uruguayan Program for Customs Modernization, having developed a prolific private and public career, consistent with his professional education and teaching career.

Mr. Enrique Canon Pedragosa was born in Montevideo on December 30th, 1952.
