I have earned 39 years of experience in Customs, having joined Sri Lanka Customs (SLC) in the year 1976. I also have a Master’s Degree in International Customs Law and Administration awarded by the University of Canberra. During my career in SLC, I have worked in almost all the areas of Customs in different positions and had the privilege of contributing towards number of reform and modernization Programmes undertaken by SLC.

Currently, I hold the post of the Additional Director General of Customs (Corporate) and five Directorates come under my purview; namely, Directorates of Compliance and Facilitation,  Policy and Planning, Information Technology, Commodity Classification, and Valuation.

I am also the Chairman of the Customs Working Committee on the WTO–TFA which assists the National Committee on TFA in Sri Lanka.
