Hend joined the Department of Viticulture and Enology at California State University, Fresno, in August 2013 as an assistant professor of wine chemistry.  She obtained her master's in viticulture and enology from the University of Montpellier SuAgro in France and her Ph.D. in food technology from the University of Torino in Italy. 

She has wine-industry oriented research experience with a focused attention on the processes of problem solving and quality improvement. Her current research projects are related to assessing relationships between grape texture and extraction of phenolic compounds in wines.
