For almost two decades, Lara Galinsky has been helping individuals build lives and careers that are both right for them and good for the world. As the Senior Vice President of Echoing Green, a groundbreaking nonprofit with the mission to unleash next generation talent to solve the world’s biggest problems, Lara champions emerging social entrepreneurs and helps promising social change agents find their purpose. Lara began her career at Do Something in 1997 where she served as the National Program Director and created Do Something’s BRICK Award (now called the Do Something Award) to celebrate and financially support the most outstanding young leaders in America generating change in their communities. In her role at Echoing Green, Lara judged, selected, and supported twelve classes of Echoing Green Fellows and social entrepreneurs. She also launched innovative new programs, including the Work on Purpose program to transform the way in which people make their biggest life and work decisions, and the Social Investment Council to engage emerging business leaders in the field of social impact. She is the co-author of two books that have become cornerstones of Echoing Green’s work:Work on Purpose (2011) and Be Bold: Create a Career with Impact (2007). Lara is the co-chair of the advisory board at the Patricelli Center for Social Entrepreneurship at Wesleyan University. She received her Master’s in Communications with honors from Columbia University and her Bachelors from Wesleyan University. She is a graduate of the Institute for Not-for-Profit Management Leadership Development Program at Columbia University, the Public Policy Institute at Georgetown, and was selected for CORO Leadership New York. Lara’s sense of purpose is constantly refueled by her young son Azaiah. One of Lara’s favorite quotes sums up her career ideology: Be bold and mighty forces will come to your aid. - Basil King
