| Walk and Talk with the John Muir Trust Speaker Description The John Muir Award encourages people of all backgrounds to connect with, enjoy and care for wild places. This introductory session will explain what’s involved, highlight examples of how colleges across Scotland currently use it to reach young people and adults (including links with health and wellbeing, employability, personal development, the Curriculum for Excellence and recognising wider achievement) and explore why it’s often used to help engage learners from disadvantaged backgrounds in particular. We’ll start indoors and there will also be an opportunity to get outdoors, spark ideas and try out some example activities. |
