| Let's Scrap Colleges and Universities Speaker Description The idea of "further education" or "higher education" are complete misnomers. Learners often don't know or care what arbitrary category in which they are studying and they make no difference to employers or wider society. The future must be for institutions that meet societies needs by supporting learners at every stage of their development; personal, social and professional throughout the lives. The keynote will advocate for the evolution of modern institutions that throw off the shackles of medieval attitudes towards education. It will advocate for a genuine tertiary system that will require the full integration of post school education through extensive collaboration, at least, or full merger of the college and university sectors. |
