Advances in Internet of Things and Cognitive Computing open up new opportunities in interventions for people with cognitive impairment. The paper describes some “smart objects” that exploit these technologies for subjects with neurodevelopmental disorders (e.g., Intellectual Disability and Autism). It also reports the main lessons learned from the co-design and evaluation activities performed in cooperation with therapeutic centers in Europe
