In this talk I will demonstrate the steps we, at the Space Telescope Science Institute, are taking towards merging astronomy and data science in order to open new discovery spaces using archival data. I will specifically show the development of an API and an interface for a large data-set of galaxies in the distant universe that is helping us understand how galaxies evolved through cosmic time.
