Machine Learning With Short Text10/05/2017 Objective: Guidance In Apple Maps, users derive joy and value in browsing Point-Of-Interests (POIs) through a category driven Nearby feature. Short length of text in POI titles present unique challenges when applying machine learning and NLP techniques to infer a category. Similar challenges are also observed in e-commerce, social media, messaging, and search domains.
