After describing the features of new liquid argon detectors used to study the properties of neutrinos, sub-atomic particles which may hold the answer to fundamental questions about the universe, we discuss our experience in developing and maintaining a large scale collaborative software suite to enable analysis of data from these detectors, despite vast difference in scale and configuration.
