“Curiouser and Curiouser!” Narrative Design and Opportunities

Speaker

Description
In this session,  you'll find out exactly how to use cheese holes and rabbit holes to add interest and interactivity to your narratives.

A quick rundown: Cheese holes and rabbit holes are opportunities for inquisitive fans to drill deeper into a story. While cheese holes intentionally leave ambivalent story details open for fans to interpret and mash up, rabbit holes are entry points that draw fans into the story Alice-In-Wonderland-style, enticing them to seek out deeper levels of the narrative.

A panel of accomplished transmedia experts—including Carolyn Handler Miller, who has worked on Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego? and Toy Story; Aaron Archer, of Transformers fame; and Geoffrey Long, who has worked on Xbox 360, Microsoft Games Studio, Xbox LIVE, Windows Mobile and more for Microsoft—will provide first-hand accounts and details on building these layered interest-builders into your story.
