Methods: Management system design; implementation and maintenance

Results: International certification; global benchmarking; improved H&S focus; image and results for organization & recognition

For the first time ISO has approved and is busy with the final stages of launching an ISO45001 Occupational Health & Safety Management system (to be released in October 2016). This management system is ideal for organizations that already has an ISO9001: 2015 (Quality) and/or ISO14001: 2015 (Environmental) management system in place OR for organizations that seeks recognition for their achievements in providing a safe and healthy workplace in their working environments above and beyond what they already have in place. ISO45001 will focus (amongst others) on occupational H&S hazards and risks; competence of personnel; leadership and their involvement in H&S; contractor management; monitoring; measurement; analysis and evaluation of statistics towards a healthier and safer working environment and legal compliance as the foundation to any effectively implemented management system. The focus is on strategic management and the incorporation of OH&S into ALL management sectors and not being a mere 5th wheel unto the wagon.
