Igniting the Path to a More Diverse TomorrowOctober 19, 2016 Track: General We describe how Michigan State University students are promoting diversity in CS. In after-school clubs and a daylong workshop for girls and underrepresented minorities that use engaging lessons, they have instilled in younger students a growth mindset, increased their confidence in their capabilities, dispelled myths about computing careers and opportunities, and provided positive role models.
