#HackingThePipeline: How Special STEM Programs Affect Women’s Perceptions of Computer Science

The underrepresentation of women is a problem for the tech industry. We investigated whether undergraduates who participated in diversity programs have more positive perceptions of computer science by measuring their sense of belonging, stereotypes, and interest. Results suggest that these programs may benefit participants’ sense of belonging.
