An Information Theoretic Treatment of Sequence-to-expression Modeling, with application to Biological Experiment Design and Experiment ValuationOctober 19, 2016 Track: General To model the expression of Drosophila’s ind gene, we use GEMSTAT to find an ensemble of models that closely fit its expression pattern. We estimate a distribution over the model parameter space and measure with an entropy score the ability of the ensemble to predict the results of biological experiments. This framework offers biologists a key tool to identify the most promising experiments. Speaker(s)
