Description
In this session, you’ll hear from a panel of national community partners about how your agency can leverage these partnerships to better serve the children in your programs. Through Family Service Day’s Keeping Cars Kickin’ initiative, automotive repair shops provide maintenance, repairs and education to families in need—at no cost. Smile for a Lifetime provides free orthodontics to children who can't afford braces through a scholarship program. United States Department of Agriculture Food, Nutrition and Consumer Services administers a program called the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) which is a federally funded, but state administered program, that provides free nutritious meals to children ages 18 and younger in low-income areas during the summer months. Comcast Internet Essentials provides low cost internet service to low-income household. Find out more about the new partnership with the Association of Outdoor Recreation Educators to expand the Outdoor Explorers Mentoring Program to urban areas and connect urban youth with meaningful, inclusive, community outdoor adventures and restoration projects on public lands. Join this session to learn how your agency can connect the youth you serve with these valuable opportunities.
