Western University of Health Sciences has had 40 years of leadership from the founding president and has recently inaugerated his successor. The University is at a point of growth and maturity to look at establishing new lines of communication and collaboration. As part of this, the Academic Senate has a subcommittee, University Services and Planning which works with all university departments in regards to scholarship and teaching. Lines of reporting do not include faculty, so the approach has been to establish relationships and focus on shared common goals.

This is still a work in progress, but meetings and collaboration have been established for Facilities, Human Resources, Library, IT, Research. Several of these have not sought faculty involvement in the past, and use of relationship centered approach has allowed a positive collaboration to begin. This presentation will describe the process used and initial results.
