Stuart MacKay is an Honorary Clinical Professor (University of Wollongong) and Honorary Fellow (University of Western Australia), who provides Ear, Nose, Throat, Head & Neck, Thyroid and Sleep Surgery services via Illawarra ENT Head and Neck Clinic and The Woolcock Institute of Sleep in Glebe. Surgical appointments at public and private hospitals throughout the Illawarra and at Royal North Shore Private allow a range of options for adult and paediatric patients. Professor MacKay is fellowship trained in contemporary airway surgeries for snoring and OSA, and is recognized as a leading surgeon in this discipline in Australasia. He holds positions with the Australasian Sleep Association and is the Vice President of the International Surgical Sleep Society. Professor MacKay has published over 50 peer reviewed publications related to sleep apnoea surgery, including textbook chapters and dissection manuals, and has been an invited speaker at a multitude of national and international meetings as far afield as India, China and the USA. He is a chief investigator on both NH&MRC and Garnett-Passe funded sleep apnoea projects, and also conducts a number of other prospective trials. He is the immediate past Co-chair of the Northern Illawarra Medical Staff Council and immediate past director of the Division of Surgery in the Illawarra, and is a member of ASOHNS, ASA and ISSS.
