Shirley has been a faculty member with the UConn School of Nursing since May 2014. Before coming to UConn, she was a Nurse Scientist with the Southern California Kaiser Permanente Department of Nursing Research. Other positions include: Director of Critical Care SCAL Kaiser Permanente, Nurse Manager for Surgical/Trauma ICU at Boston Medical Center, Nurse Manger ICU at L + M Hospital, Nursing Professional Development, Critical Care Nurse Massachusetts General Hospital.
