Carsten Schousboe is a Senior Health
Economist who has undertaken cost benefit analysis on a large number of
PHARMAC’s new investment decisions. Carsten holds a Master’s degree in
Economics from Nottingham University and undergraduate degrees from Otago University.
Carsten has worked for a number of public sector organisations looking at
R&D and technology investments and has worked for the Pharmaceutical
company Novo Nordisk as a financial controller in their R&D division.
Health Economic Devices
PHARMAC is tasked with achieving the best
health outcomes from within the funding available. Carsten will outline how
this analysis is undertaken in PHARMAC’s health economics team and how economic
analysis fits into PHARMAC’s decision making framework.
