Dr. Matthew Evans is the Vice President of Digital Transformation Programs at Airbus Group. He leads the effort to unlock value from data across the Group –

developing integrated platforms, building analytics teams and partnerships, implementing robust data governance, and working with customers and suppliers to ensure access to key operational information.

Prior to joining Airbus in 2015, Dr. Evans founded and led the Digital Services team at Siemens Energy. He worked with customers around the world to turn operational data into more efficient, flexible, and clean power. Dr. Evans built a data science team, implemented an integrated data platform across the Energy business, and brought new data-driven services to market.

Before Siemens, Dr. Evans held positions of increasing responsibility in engineering, program management, and strategy at Lockheed Martin. His aerospace career began as a materials scientist and project manager in Lockheed Martin Aeronautics’ Advanced Development Programs division – the legendary Skunk Works.

Dr. Evans holds a Ph.D. in Physics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a bachelor's degree in Physics from Cornell University. After completing his doctorate, he was at Vanderbilt University as a Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Physics and Astronomy and a Research Associate at the Institute for Space and Defense Electronics.
