Health Sector Design Lead, Provider Service Delivery Team, ACC, NZ


Provider Service Delivery is responsible for shaping how clients experience ACC through the design, delivery and management of ACC funded health and support services.  As Design Lead, Nic works collaboratively with the health sector, ACC and clients to identify opportunities and design models of care that support ACC’s Health Sector Strategy.  Most recently Nic led the redesign of ACC’s pain management services that went live on 01 December 2016.  Nic has an MBA from the University of Victoria and his background includes work in compensatory schemes in both New Zealand and Australia.

Annie and Nic will talk about the key changes under ACC’s new service before taking a more detailed look at a number of cases.  This will include discussion on how ACC uses the information that clinicians provide, as well as the features of reporting that enable ACC to make timely decisions to ensure the right rehabilitation at the right time to optimise client outcomes.

The introduction of the electronic Persistent Pain Outcome Collaboration (ePPOC) presents a significant opportunity for the pain management sector in New Zealand.  This presentation will explore the development of ePPOC, how it can support and influence practice, and the value that this initiative can deliver for the sector.
