The Long-Term Care Best Practice Spotlight Organization® Designation is an opportunity for long-term care homes to partner with the Registered Nurses’ Association of Ontario (RNAO) in creating evidence-based cultures in their organizations through systematic implementation and evaluation of multiple RNAO best practice guidelines.  Currently, there are a total of 13 LTC organizations representing 25 long-term care homes engaged in this initiative, representing a broad range of sites from across the province.  The focus on guideline implementation, evaluation and sustainability, with supports for capacity development, knowledge exchange, mentoring and coaching are integral to the success of this initiative, and the participating LTC-BPSOs are demonstrating enhanced resident, staff and organizational outcomes, and have been able to leverage their efforts related to the required programs and their Quality Improvement Plans.
