Alexandra Smedley

Alexandra trained as a Speech Language Therapist at the University of Canterbury and has worked at both Timaru and Christchurch Hospitals. She is an experienced speech and language therapist with specialist knowledge and expertise working with Head and Neck cancer populations. Her particular passion is working with patients who have laryngectomies. She is currently supporting research, by the University of Auckland, looking into outcomes for patients following laryngectomy surgery to further improve the quality of patient care. Alexandra is also involved in the Christchurch Hospital Voice and Videostroboscopy clinics. She recently attended the 12th International Voice Symposium in Salzburg, close to her hometown in Germany.
