Residents’ and Family Councils are mandated in long-term care homes across Ontario, carrying out multiple functions and being involved in many aspects of the home. Yet a recent comprehensive review involving residents, families and staff found that overall, very little is known about them and that there is much that can (and should) be learned and shared. Join the Change Foundation, an independent health policy think-tank to learn more about their review project and explore their findings related to both councils’ roles, functioning, best practices and their impacts on the quality of life, care and culture in long-term care homes.
