Angela Butler is an Otolaryngologist based full time in Christchurch, working as a General Otolaryngologist with a subspecialty interest in Head and Neck surgery. She completed her training in Otolaryngology in New Zealand in 2012, followed by a fellowship in Head and Neck Oncology, Reconstruction and Facial Plastics at Dalhousie University, Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada.



The Challenge of Change – Early Years Post FRACS

This discussion will focus on three aspects regarding the early years of fellowship/consultancy, from the perspective of young Fellows. Firstly the organisation and challenges of an international fellowship in Australia, Canada and the UK. Secondly the organisation of an SMO position and potential ways facilitating this process. Lastly discussion around some of the challenges faced in today’s economic and healthcare environment as a new SMO.
