Chris Thomson is a visiting Otolaryngologist, Head and Neck surgeon at Christchurch Hospital and is also in private practice. Following his registrar training in New Zealand he completed a Paediatric Otolaryngology fellowship at the Royal Children’s Hospital in 1999, a general fellowship in the U.K. thereafter and a Facial Plastic Surgery fellowship in Sydney in 2003.

His practice is limited to Paediatric Otolaryngology, Rhinology and Facial Plastic Surgery. He is the current secretary of the NZ Society of Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery. He is interested in new medical technology, and keeps himself abreast of current advances in the management of sinonasal disease and contemporary techniques in rhinoplasty surgery.

He is a Clinical Lecturer at the Christchurch School of Medicine and is the current Secretary of the New Zealand Society of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery.
