They offer an opportunity to improve health outcomes for our patients and to create efficiencies for the system that cares for them. There has been a long-standing vision for PHARMAC to take on a more central role in optimising the factors that lead to the benefits from medical devices being more fully adopted. A number of important milestones have been reached and PHARMAC’s activity is now accelerating as a result of the capabilities that have been established, and supported by the new DHB procurement strategy. The strategy strengthens PHARMAC’s partnership with DHBs, to assist delivery the full expected benefits. What are the next stops on the journey, and how will we know if the destination is what was hoped for?
