Where to next for NZHIT?

The New Zealand health IT sector has been experiencing considerable change and challenges over the past few years brought about through increased demands being placed across the whole of the health sector to deliver higher levels of care to people with much greater needs, within an environment of constrained resources and complex structures trying to do “more with less”. The review and launch of a new Health Strategy for New Zealand has identified the key role that health IT is able to play in enabling the delivery of high quality health services. This provides opportunities for the sector to participate at a very different level than has been the case historically. Scott’s presentation provides an overview of the significant changes that have been made to ensure that NZHIT (the peak industry body) provides the relevant levels of support required by its members and key stakeholders so they are able to position themselves to “Enable a Healthier New Zealand”.
