Understanding Construction Contracts, Larry Dickinson, The Branch Group

A construction project is a fragile partnership built on conflicting economic interests.  The pressures of profit/loss, deadlines, differing expectations, unforeseen conditions, and interpretation of plans & specifications, combined with challenges of human interaction, are part of our daily challenge.  This Focus Group will examine the role of contracts as the “glue” that holds the fragile partnerships together and the means of bringing together the necessary resources to enable our modern construction industry.

Larry Dickinson has over 40 years’ experience in the construction industry completing projects for both public and private sector owners. His areas of expertise include design-build, contract administration, negotiation and dispute resolution, public-private partnerships, proposal development and public policy.
